Strathclyde University Pipe Band

In January 2005, I joined the Strathclyde University Pipe Band that was newly formed in the previous September. The summer of 2005 saw us storm onto the Pipe Band scene, winning numerous prizes including WINNING the following competitions:

• British Pipe Band Championships Grade 4B
• Balloch Highland Games Pipe Band competition Grade 4
• Rothesay Highland Games Pipe Band competition
  Grade 4

Another noteable success was coming 2nd in the coveted World Pipe Band Championships 2005 (grade 4B) which was held at Glasgow Green.

After having a successful season with the Band, I left in order to concentrate on my solo Bagpiping career. In season 2006, the Band newly promoted to Grade 4a, won many competitions including the biggest Piping competition in the world at Glasgow Green.

Strathclyde University Pipe Band are now in Grade 3a and looking forward to another successful season. They can be hired as a band to play at numerous functions. You can find out more about this band, by visiting their website
